Robin Thicke has some legal problems,the late Marvin Gaye’s children have settled claims against a music record 
company an affiliate of Sony Entertainment over Robin Thicke’s hit song Blurred Lines that earned him a Grammy nomination.
Marvin Gaye’s offspring took the initiative to sue after Robin Thick sued for pre-emptive copyright protection.
The Gayes’ began by accusing EMI for not chasing after a copyright breach case against Robin Thick since to them it’s so evident that Blurred Lines (Robin Thicke’s) smash hit that has very similar attributes to “Got to Give It Up”.
However on Tuesday this week, a Los Angeles Judge granted Frankie Christian Gaye and Nona Marvisa Gaye’s dismissal of their own lawsuit that they had filed against EMI, an affiliate company to Sony/ATV Music publishing.
The actual documentation depicts that the Gaye family and Sony have come to an agreement and it further claims against Sony will never be brought up again. However, the terms of the settlement were not revealed.
Back in August 2013, Thicke and his collaborators Pharrel Williams and rapper T.I asked a federal judge to make a ruling that their hit song Blurred Lines isn’t a copy of Got To Give It Up. The hit song has been nominated for Record of the Year and various other awards during the January 26th Grammy Awards.
Blurred Lines The Phenomenon
Blurred Lines single by Robin Thicke featuring Pharrel Williams and Rapper T.I has sold well over 6.6 million tracks and was 2013s biggest record hit and it ended up spending 12 straight weeks on top of the 100 Hot Billboard Chart.
However back in October, Marvin Gaye’s children accused the performers of progressively copying Marvin Gaye’s music elements and used them heavily on Blurred Lines. They filed a law suit that was to block further use of their dad’s music by Robin Thicke in other songs.
The Gaye’s accused Robin Thicke of inappropriately using Marvin Gaye’s song “After the Dance” in his No1. R&B hit song Love After War. However representatives for Sony, the Gaye Family and Thicke refused to talk about the settlement that was reached upon. Marvin Gaye was a musical Icon that was a huge hit back in the 70s and 80 producing major hits such as Let’s Get It On, Through The Grapevine and Sexual Healing a track that saw his own dad shoot him dead back in 1984.
