President Obama addressed the nation after a mass murderer killed at least 10 people left dead and seven hurt. President Obama gave his condolences to all the victims’ families.
Obama stated that “there are more American families’ moms and dads children in communities across the country forced to relieve their anguish and parents across the country who are scared because they know it might have been their families or their children”. Pres. Obama went on to get say that “our thoughts and prayers are not enough”. He stated that “prayer it does not capture the heart ache and pain that we should feel and it does nothing to prevent this type of carnage from happening in some other parts of this country”. Pres. Obama stated that somehow this has become routine. The reporting is routine and his response at the presidential podium has become routine. Obama went on to say that America has become numb to this.
Obama stated that this is a political choice that we have allowed this to happen every few months in America. Obama went on to say that we are collectively responsible to answer to those families who lost their loved ones because of our non-actions. Pres. Obama left the presidential podium pretty upset after the shooting in Douglas County, Oregon, where 10 people were left dead and seven hurt in Roseburg, Oregon community college in Rosenberg, Oregon.
According to authorities the gunmen singled out Christians. The gunmen while reloading his gun ordered the students to stand up and asked if they were Christians and as they stood up. He said good your gonna see God soon because you’re a Christian. According to law enforcement officials the shooter was identified as 26-year-old Chris Harper Mercer. The shooter had body armor on and a large amount of ammunition. It is reported that the gunmen is deceased on how the gunmen died.
Pres. Obama seemed pretty upset during his address to the nation. Obama expressed a rare moment of religious feelings when he asked that the nation pray for the victims and asked that God help change things. This senseless murder is one of many that has happened under the Obama administration and will most likely set the tone for the next presidential election
