Michelle Wiig is 25 years old and the oldest sibling of four. I have a sister Melissa (22)Brother Bryce (20)and youngest sister Daityn (11).
I am originally from Sgt. Bluff, Iowa where I was active in sports since fourth 
grade playing varsity basketball and volleyball beginning as a freshman. I went on to college and like most girls gained that “freshman 15” which was more like “freshman 40.” This was a very challenging time for me. Like most can related, I went through many emotions including depression. I did many crash diets, eating disorders, and known as the “cardio queen.” I was so unhappy with myself and even more upset with the fact I let myself go. If that is not enough I lost my father to suicide March 28th, 2010. My life seemed to be falling apart right before my eyes. I was losing control of myself and now just lost my father. That’s when I got on my hands and knees and prayed. My prayer was different this time around. I simply asked for guidance in the right direction to serve him and better my life. I accepted Christ into my life. This is when the motto “pay it forward” really become MY LIFE motto.
I knew I had the drive and motivation to get back up and better my life in a healthier way. I wanted to be an inspiration to other women to encourage them to make a change. I competed in my first bodybuilding show November 9th, 2013 and placed 7th out of 13 in the pro qualifier. Although I did not do as well as I hoped it did not stop me. I have begun to train for my next show and also began modeling. I am also working with a few women to help them change their eating habits, exercise regimen in a way that fits their lifestyle!
Through this journey I have learned that a fit and confident woman is a beautiful woman! EACH and EVERY ONE of us has that we just need direction to guide us. Fitness is not just a hobby it is a lifestyle and it has forever changed my life for the better. I am also a 4th grade teacher. I incorporate fitness and healthy choices into my teaching as our youth needs positive guidance as well. Fitness is a journey we must learn to trust, much like my faith. You cannot see it but you can BELIEVE it. Be about it & Pray about it.
