Kaci Hickox who returned to the U.S. last week from treating Ebola victims in West Africa has started and uproar for refusing to be quarantined.
The Governor of Maine, Paul Lepage, states that he will head to court to get a judge to give order to Ebola exposed nurse Kaci Hickox to mandated quarantine. Kaci Hickox was held at Newark airport after flying in from one of three countries known to have rampant Ebola cases. She was questioned about her exposure level and showed a fever during the time.
New Jersey Governor Chris Christie stands behind his decision to hold her at the time due to her exposure caring for Ebola patients and her fever at the time of questioning. Ebola nurse Kaci Hickox is from Maine and was able to return home but was given quarantine restrictions. She openly stated that she would break them. Maine State Troopers have monitored Kaci since her return from caring for the Ebola patients but can do nothing further until a judge order is complete.
Kaci Hickox states she should not be quarantined until she starts showing symptoms of Ebola which are very similar to flu symptoms. She states the fever she spiked was due to distress at the questioning and being held at Newark.
