Ice Cube spoke to MTV News in March 2013 about his up and coming NWA biopic was in its early stages.

Cube better known as a member of Westside Rapping group back then revealed to MTV News that they were working towards booking individuals for front and behind the scenes thus bringing to life the long awaited film.
During that period the script was almost 75% finished. Fast forward to January 10th 2014 and his longtime friend Dr. Dre posted a twitpic on his official twitter account and from the look of things, they may have just found the right man to undertake the directorship mantle of the long awaited project.
Ice Cub’s longtime friend and collaborator F. Gary is the man that is set to direct the film. Gary’s film credits begin with the films Set It off, the first Friday Ice Cube Movie, The Italian Job and the critically acclaimed Law Abiding Citizen.
Who is F. Gary?
F. Gary is a prominent music video director and an individual that has helmed classics for artists that include the likes of; R. Kelly, Ice Cube, Outcast and the late Whitney Houston. F. Gary’s latest video production was directing the Super High video belonging to Rick Ross in 2010.
At this juncture, we can only promise to keep you updated on any development about the project. However, it is our opinion that Dr. Dre, Ice Cube and the fantastic director F. Gary on this production is a winner. F. Gary behind the movie on the director’s chair, we believe it’s a movie that is going to be on point and it’s soundtrack will be out of this world!
NWA was a pioneer hip-hop rap group that originated from Compton. NWA’s vivid lyrics showcased how life was like for a young black man hailing from the inner city. NWA’s breakthrough debut was “Straight Outta Compton” an album that sold well over 3 million copies.
The group was however hit by controversy due to their hit song “F*@#K Da Police” “Express Your-self” and “Appetite for Destruction”. In the 90s Both Dr. Dre and Ice Cube left the group and proceeded to have successful rap careers.
Unfortunately and tragically, NWA’s founder and producer Easy E died in March of 1995 dying from AIDS related complication and soon after the group was disbanded and group members followed their own individual paths.
