Fashion Impresario and Beauty Icon, Glynn Jackson, has for the last 20 years raised the bar of excellence and introduced the highest caliber hair show experience. From his humble beginnings to his newfound fame, he continues to create a platform for countless stylists who would normally be overlooked. Glynn has bridged the gap of the cultural divide and brought countless companies forward to engage in this diverse community reach-back program.
This year (2011) we would like to take this opportunity to engage the beauty community to step up to the plate and be proactive partners. Our goal is to take the 20th Anniversary of the Golden Scissors Awards to television.
This particular format of hair expression has been stolen, duped, bamboozled, overlooked, and devalued from the art form that it is destined to be. Many networks have misrepresented this format and introduced it as a chicken circuit parody that is not in good light of any community. As we work toward cultural inclusion, all communities should walk away from the table feeling like a winner. That is the reason why, for over the last 20 years, we have always strived to create this format in the highest regards of creative expression – with class and sophistication.
So I challenge YOU, beauty community, to please partner by informing and educating your constituents to join in this HAIR REVOLUTION! I invite you to celebrate our 20th Anniversary in the Nation’s Capital… Hair Rage: Taking Beauty to the Extreme. Expect to be impressed.
