Natasha Von Castle – Canada’s Music Queen
Born and raised in Toronto, Canada, Natasha discovered her love and passion at a young age which led to her study of music. Professionally educated in International Business with a minor in Law Procedures and Marketing, Natasha combined her passion for music with her education by developing marketing strategies for artists who wanted to further their music offering outside of Canada.
Focusing on DJ’s, Natasha founded L3 Magazine in 2006 which was the only publication in Canada that focused on the accomplishments of DJ’s and Sound Systems. The magazine grew quickly, and expanded to include the who’s who of Caribbean talent including Buju Banton, Shaggy and Chuck Fender. What started with a few hundred readers in Toronto has grown to become 42,000 faithful monthly readers from every country around the world.
Soon after the launch of the magazine, Natasha developed music distribution which began with 5 DJ’s. 1 year later, music distribution expanded to 1,500 and now sits at 5,000 radio DJ’s worldwide making her one of the most sought after music marketers. Some of Natasha’s clients include VP Records, Jukeboxx Productions, Singing Melody, Baby Cham, Busy Signal, Shurwayne Winchester and more. In addition to music distribution, Natasha created L3 Publicity which is Canada’s leading Publicity firm providing information about the Caribbean to mainstream media as well as Caribbean media outlets based outside of the islands. Some clients to enjoy L3 Publicity’s services are Caribana ™ (North America’s largest Carnival experience outside of Trinidad & Tobago), The Ottawa Reggae Festival, and The Montreal Reggae Festival.
The L3 brand continues to grow, most recently with the addition of L3 Designs and L3 Radio. The design division creates websites, album covers and specialty concepts for clients, while L3 Radio plays the hottest music in all genres. Natasha can be heard every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday in Toronto, Atlanta and London. If she’s not playing on the radio, she’s lecturing students about careers in the music industry, and empowering them to pursue their goals in the arts, most recently at the Edna Manley School of the Performing Arts in Jamaica.
Working with concert producers, Natasha has taken to the stage to host major talents such as Shaggy, Collie Buddz, The Heptones, the late Sugar Minott, Chaka Demus and Pliers and more. She is Canada’s most recognized resource in music.
With her vast collection of vinyl, CD’s and MP files, Natasha spins music for radio, drawing from her collection and new releases. Paying tribute to her special passion for DJ’s, remixes from some of the industries’ best are also thrown in to enhance listeners experience within her radio show!
