DJ Esquire Scratch Academy Instructor Joins Vyzion RadioDJ Esquire Scratch Academy Instructor Joins Vyzion Radio hailing from Brooklyn, NY, DJ Esquire has 17+ years of DJ experience consisting of live stage performances, radio shows, various club/lounge residencies and countless DJ competitions across the U.S. Canada and Europe. Esquire has performed on the same bill with acts such as Jay-Z,Coldplay, Run-DMC, Kanye West, Metallica, Pearl Jam, M.I.A. Chris Rock, DJ Tiesto and MSTRKRFT just to name a few. Esquire has also been the performance DJ for Junior M.A.F.I.A. member Lil Cease and hip-hop upstarts 3rd Party. Esquire has spun at some of New Yorks top performance venues like Southpaw, Knitting Factory and SOBs to name a few. Currently, Esquire is one of the premiere Corporate Event DJs in NYC with events for MTV, HBO, Maxim Magazine, Details Magazine, Saks, Macys, and Lucky Shops under his belt.
In 2002, Esquire emerged as the Guitar Center North East Regional champion, ITF U.S.A. Vice Champion and was a member of the ITF Western Hemisphere Team Champions. Esquire proudly represented the USA at the ITF World Finals held in Munich, Germany. Esquire also secured slots with Backspin Studios and Scratch DJ Academy where he teaches aspiring tablists the art of DJing. From there, Esquire went on an incredible 3 year hot streak, placing or winning every battle he competed in. With his victory at the 2003 Hot 97 FM DJ Battle, Esquire had the privilege to open for DJ Mister Cee (former DJ for Notorious B.I.G.) on the Hot 97 Summer Party Cruise. In 2004, Esquire grossed over $15,000 in prizes from his battle victories and performed dates on the SXSW (South by South West) Festival. In the summer of 2005, Esquire performed with the Mountain Dew And1 Mixtape Tour spanning 30 cities and returned in 2006 for another 25 city stint. In 2007, Esquire re-entered the battle ring and won the Roc Raida/Stanton Gong DJ Battle USA; NYC Titles and the DMC Minneapolis Regional title. He also shot a TV pilot for Rockstar DJ and starred in a Toyota Yaris commercial ad that was shown across the U.S. In 2008, Esquire performed at the Bonnaroo Music Festival in Tennessee and provided cuts on the Building the Better Bomb LP by 3rd Party member Rabbi Darkside. With all of these accomplishments, Esquire has proven to be a fierce competitor in the battle scene and a highly respected figure in the turntablist community.
